Belkin

http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatSectionView.process?Section_Id=2033

Released: July 10, 2008

$40 USD

Requirements: Portable Computer and a lap.

Strengths: Microfiber hi-fi speaker-like cover material.

Weaknesses: No stop-slip material.

Introduction

á      Designed for comfortable laptop use on the couch, bed, or floor

á      Stores power supply inside

  • Made of durable microfiber

My Experiences

The unit designed for a 15" portable is too small for the 17" Mac for inserting inside lengthwise, but it will go in on end.

I found it a bit curious that they advertise the unit for loading the power supply, however.

The CushTop Hideaway is stiff and retains heat from my legs as well as from the MBP (MacBook Pro). If you didn't have a computer you can always use this as a breakfast in bed table!

The Press release had this costing $25 more than listed in the online catalog.

I had this on my desk after using it comfortably on my lap and the MPB was sliding off, so be careful. There are no anti-skid or rubber friction devices included.

Conclusion

Nice idea, well implemented.
