Letter from the CEO

Apple Dei

by Robert Pritchett

I figured I'd have fun in the June issue with possibly working on the beginnings of a Da Vinci Code parody of Apple. Maybe we can get Joseph Nilo over at The Mac Pro Podcast to run with a video!

A Da Vinci Code Spoof on Norman Rockwell was created by Alfred Thomas Catalfo at http://www.thenormanrockwellcode.com/ It is an excellent on-line video.

So what is the buzz all about? Try The Da Vinci Code at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Da_Vinci_Code with Ron Howard creating the movie version from Don Brown’s book. My personal views are in the Book Reviews section this month in What Da Vinci Didn’t Know: An LDS Perspective.

Scenario of The Steve Jobs Code

Steve Jobs as Saviour of the Music Industry. iTunes as the catalyst to the Holy Grail of Macintosh and the dissemination of the gospel of Mac OS X.  With the Apple Cube on 5th Ave, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6BFhRkUJEI we now have a start in Cupertino in a garage (manger of humble beginnings), resurrection of the Steveness, as he comes back (resurrected) to save Apple from pending doom and the Cube in New York City on 5th Ave as the penultimate place to be. (Kingdom of 5th Ave? No, the Temple of Cube! With a little Yin/Yang thrown in for good measure.)

The Macintosh could play the role of Mary Magdeline and the Knights Templar could be the Mac Fanatics and fanboys of the last three decades.

We need to identify who could play the Opus Dei of Apple. (Watch the History Channel about this one. http://www.historychannel.com/)

The Priori of Sion could perhaps be from the “Babylon of Microsoft”. Who would be the Albino? Steve Balmer?  Michael Dell?

We will try not to offend the sensitivities of the Mac Faithful without also getting blasphemous or heretical. May the Saints preserve us.

By the way, did you know the Cryptex password in The Da Vinci Code is “apple”?

Darren Barefoot has taken it up a notch with Apple Dei at http://www.icryptex.com/.

Okay, who wants to run with this and put it up on YouTube? http://www.youtube.com
