There's no business like e-business like no business

I know
Everybody's website is appealing

Everything the traffic thinks is hip

But you get that satisfying feeling
when you are stealing
their JavaScript!

There's none colder than stock holders they sell when you go low

One day's SJ Merc declares that you're a bomb

Then Palm burns you in their E-Prom

Next day's Wall Street Journal links to YOU DOT COM!

"This company is a Go! This company is a Go."

The biddings, the askings, the mergers, the flops

The guru who falls right into your lap

The log files, recoveries, the abends, the stops,

The ERP that won't stop messaging your App!

The Launch when you're prepared for DSL!

Release date when the product doesn't sell.

There's no Commerce like e-Commerce like no Commerce I know

One day your accountant says "it's over."

Phones ring off the hook at your VC

Then a merger leverages you some clover

And you take over their B2B!

There's no people like e-people - they loved your IPO

One day products moving and your site is packed.

Sales are booming! .

Your server's maxed!

Next day Congress hits you with a Web sales tax!

But go on with the Show!

This company is a Go!

Introduction

If

“You have always wondered about creating a web site.

You wonder how come everyone else is making money online, but you aren't.

When you read about people making a killing online and having a great life, you secretly wish you could do that too (or you simply convince yourself that they must be bull$#!%ting).

You are intrigued about the thought of having a web site, but don't know where to start.

You have just launched your web site, but don't know how to take it to the next level.

You are not making any money from your site.

You are not getting any traffic.

You are getting traffic, but no one is buying your stuff.

You think just because your business is local, you don't need a web site.

Your web site is nowhere to be found on Google or Yahoo.

You spend a lot of time pursuing worthless Link Exchanges.

You didn't know that you can get a Free Paycheck from Google - month after month - all while still working at your day job.”

Then

You don’t know how – but want to know how.

Else

“What to sell (products, services, advertisements or a brand)?

How to sell (web design, copy writing, technology, getting paid online)?

How to get visitors to your web site (generating traffic: free and paid)?

How to get them to buy your stuff (conversion through pre-selling, brand building, information give-away)?

How to keep them and their friends coming back for more (up-selling, cross-selling, affiliate program, joint ventures, self-sustaining lead generation)?

Master these 5 areas, one item at a time, and you are golden.”

In this book…

My copy of this book was PDF-double-password-protected and read like a pre-released review copy instead of a final polished version of the book.

Hopefully, by the time you get this book the typos and broken links and links to unfunctional sites (Ping list for example) will be overcome and updated. After all, the book is an E-Book and there is no excuse for not keeping it updated.

After all, Ravi Jayagopal is self-published through the website nichwordspublishing.com

So what is revealed between these 277 pages that you might otherwise be able to go online and garner from dozens if not thousands of websites? -

Solving problems instead of selling products, deciding what to sell, selling advertising space and other peoples products, earning from Google, learning about search engine optimization, indexing your website, pagerank pranks, keyword searching, link exchanging (Not!), one-way and multi-way linking, linkbaiting, submitting to “authority” sites, online discussion participation and blog commenting and trackbacking, a case study of his own HowToThrowYourVoice.com, website planning and fast-tracking, accepting credit card transactions and other options, list-building, opting-in and out, E-mail publishing, newsletter promoting, tracking and marketing, finding sponsors, linking affiliates and joint-venturing, converting visitors into customers, referral and affiliate marketing, google hacks, FireFox plug-ins, marketing with RSS feeds, Domain registration, Web hosting, site design, E-mail management, website program tools (he has a few of his own to sell), biggest challenges and to-do lists, and ideas not worth publishing and a challenge to go all the way.

Conclusion

Yes, you really could get the lion’s share of knowledge online search for all these tidbits, but Ravi has been around a while and has become successful in his own right. He migrated to America I’m sure partly because of his online efforts for him and his family. And he is realizing his great American dream. He is just showing how he did it, so we can too.

Recommendation

If you are new to E-Commerce, then this is a good place to start. After all, for the price of the book he throws in a few of his own software tool she developed along the way. We paid quit a price at the beginning for those tools a few years ago, and he is giving them away along with the book.
